Licenses & Compliance

ABC Solar Incorporated is built for complex solar + storage projects: rooftop solar, battery backup, service upgrades, roof coordination, permitting, and utility interconnection. We run projects the way inspectors and utilities want them run: clean documentation, code-first design, and licensed trades where required.

Short version:

We are licensed to build. And we bring the right licensed specialists when the scope requires it.

Licensed Trades We Use (When Required)

Solar and storage often cross multiple disciplines. For scopes that require specialty licensing, ABC Solar brings licensed trades.

  • Licensed C-10 Electricians for service panel upgrades and advanced battery systems where required.
  • Licensed Roofers for roof work, roof repairs, and roof warranty-sensitive scopes.

We coordinate the workflow so the homeowner doesn’t have to manage multiple contractors.

Insurance

ABC Solar maintains commercial insurance appropriate for contracting work. Certificates of Insurance (COI) are available upon request. Coverage and limits depend on policy terms and project requirements.

  • Commercial General Liability (CGL)
  • Workers’ Compensation (where required)
  • Commercial Auto (as applicable)
  • Project-specific endorsements when required by property managers / HOAs / GCs

Permits, Inspections, and Utilities

Every installation is subject to AHJ permitting, inspections, and utility interconnection requirements. ABC Solar coordinates the full process: plan set, permit submittal, inspection scheduling, corrections, and PTO support.

  • AHJ/utility fees are typically pass-through at cost when charged by the agency/utility.
  • PTO and interconnection timelines are controlled by utilities and can vary.

Batteries: Code & Safety

Battery installations must comply with applicable building and fire codes, equipment listings, clearance/setback rules, and manufacturer installation instructions.

  • Final equipment placement is determined by code, site constraints, and inspector requirements.
  • Some jurisdictions apply additional fire department guidance beyond base code.

System Ownership and Payment Policy

ABC Solar does not offer financing or leases. We design and install solar and battery systems for customers who purchase their equipment. Any borrowing is arranged independently by the customer with their chosen lender.

If you need to borrow, we suggest discussing a home equity line of credit (HELOC) with your bank or credit union. Compare the lender’s rates, fees and repayment terms separately from the installation price.

A HELOC is secured by your home, which you could lose if you cannot repay. Rates are usually variable and payments can rise. The safest choice depends on your finances and the loan terms.
